May 2008

As soon as I stepped into chapel this morning, you knew the Holy Spirit was at work. You felt His presence. Amen. We worshiped. Then the 9th grade english class did their choral reading. It was really intense. It was asking where will you be on the day of judgement? Choral readings are cool.

As they got done Bro Phil was very moved in the spirit and just said “Let’s worship the Lord.” Oh did the Lord ever meet us. He is so good! He is so faithful! I believe Zach prophesied saying “The Lord will lead you! He will Lead you on the path of righteousness!”

There is a certain girl in high school that I just adore. Yeah, I admit it, she is a favorite. However, she is favorite because I know the Lord has put her in my path! I went to pray with her this morning and just telling her “He is real!” Afterwards, Zach and Jachin came up to me, all encouraged, they said they were so glad to see me pray with her and how they didn’t know if they should get a girl to go pray with her and how he was trying to get another girls attention to pray with her – I didn’t know any of this was going on – just that the Holy Spirit impressed upon me to go pray with her. Jachin told me that before that he went and talked to her for like 15 minutes. I didn’t know that either.

In Zach’s words “we still have five more chapels!”

I love when you are of the same accord and the same spirit. As everyone was seeking the Lord there was a first a cry of victory. Victory for the school year and for how far so many have come. Then the Holy Spirit got to work and you knew that He was preparing them for the summer. It then became the battle cry!!

If you read this … pray for chapel this up coming week. I know the Lord is going to do a lot! These kids need your prayers! I know that they will covet your prayers as well.

Praise Adonai!!

So coming home from the Senior Trip last night we stopped to eat at Panera. After eating all that I could, I was left with the Pumpkin Muffie that I purchased. There is no typo there. I said to the cashier “I’m sorry, but I just feel stupid calling it a Muffie” and the cashier just laughed and agreed. However, I just got to eat my muffie. It was very yummy. Can you guess what it is? I don’t think its hard to figure out. Its the top-only of a muffin. With a little research I discovered that you can make “Muffies” with any batter!

Chelsea ?

Some people don’t like change at all. I on the other hand, love to rearrange. I am always rearranging to hopefully find that which makes the situation just right. I wonder if this “need to fix” and “change my surroundings” rolls into my relationships? I am sure it does somehow. I am not going to start psycho-analyzing these behaviors. Nor will I have to, because my friends will do it for me. I <3 my friends.

For example, I have found the perfect arrangement of furniture in my dining room and my bedroom. For what I think would be the perfect arrangement in my living room would require the purchase of new furniture, which I do not have money for, so for the furniture I have now, it is the perfect arrangement. My classroom is perfectly arranged (however the desks are always a problem because no matter what, the kids can’t keep them exactaly how I put them, so I gave up that fight.) I could continue to point out the drawers that I think are perfectly organized too but I ‘ll spare you the exciting details.

So yes the design of my blog has changed, yet again. I fear to say that it will change again and again. Once I do find that “just right” I promise to stick with it, because that is what I do. I love organizing and rearranging (ask my roommate it drives her crazy.) I feel that there should be a place for everything. I love when I find the perfect spot for something, so somehow that perfect-spot-finding tendency that I have is rolling onto finding the perfect-design-for-my-blog. It will happen. The perfect design will come. This current one is pretty close.

Hello, the newly named Preventer, would like to comment:

I know I will not flow with such ease as PK does, her and her love of the English language. I usually just tend to babble, but yet I feel that I babble well.

Yes, it is true, that the discussion was encouraging and that I was glad that I went. I really walked away with an appreciation for those that the Lord has called to the medical profession (also more of an appreciation for my mom who is an ER nurse herself.) I don’t ever think of things that those in this field have to face daily. Since we seem to be talking in code names, as Dr. Perfect pointed out, that you tend to become numb to it. I am not so sure if it is a numbing or just how the Lord can make one capable of handling such situations on a daily basis. From testimonies giving by the two doctors there, ones from my mom and ones from Dr. Perfect, there are certainly times when that “numbness” is gone and they get so humbled by what they are witnessing and it appears – just start to pray! Lord continue to use these saints in their field!!

I liked the residents use of the word “gestalt” last night. Luckily, for Joe,oops the Dr., that PK and I were enjoying ourselves, because, we tend to be bad for each other in situations where we are supposed to be quiet. PK was bopping all over the place in her chair and of course kept bumping into me, maybe she was bopping to the music that seemed to be coming from somewhere, oh wait it was coming from Dr. Perfects phone. As she proceeded to sit on her feet, on this lovely chair that had wheels on the bottom, I guess my “Preventer” personality trait had to come out and prevent myself from spinning her and pushing her across the room.

Yes we then journeyed up the hill for dinner at King Davids. I wish I liked babagunush, because it is just such a fun word to say. Babagunush. As I sat there, entertaining myself with this word, I began to receive my regular treatment. The general teasing and jarring that always tends to come my way. Which in turn why on PK’s blog I have been titled “The Preventer” – where the ironic thing is that I was a “Promoter” of going and I get the slack. Its ok. I’ll take it. Sounds big of me, not really, I’ll take it, because I have to take it. I <3 my friends. Oh and I guess I am also part of a sailboat, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preventer .

I am used to PK whining to get what she wants. Never ceases to amaze me when she gets her way. It doesn’t work for me. I’ve tried. I would just be told to be quiet and to stop being a “fun-sucker.” So we went back up to “insomnia cookies” and I am not going to lie — it was one mighty good cookie. It came out warm! Melted in your mouth – yummy goodness. I believe in this case, the “stopper of all things fun” would have fallen on the Dr.’s shoulders who did not stop for PK. Which I turned pointed out to PK and said he is the “stopper” not me, she said you are both like that just in different ways. Whatever. I <3 my friends, again. :P

So some friends don’t ask too much of you, when they do ask something of you, push past and you might end up with an encouraging as well as enjoyable evening.

He’s Chuck Norris …
“Chuck Norris destroyed the periodic table….cause he only recognizes the element of surprise”
thanks for sharing Hannah … I think you need to go on your blog and do a whole page on all of your Chuck Norris jokes .. this is just my favorite :P

…all the Israelites 20 years old or more who were able to serve in Israel’s army were counted according to their families. (Numbers 1:45-46) The Lord was taking care of an entire nation and yet we still struggle with thoughts of Him not being able to take care of us! Lord Help us to believe and trust you.

Whether by day or by night, whenever the cloud lifted, they set out. Whether the cloud stayed over the tabernacle for two days or a month or a year, the Israelites would remain in a camp and not set out; but when it lifted, they would set out. (Numbers 9:21-22) This is so like our walks with the Lord, or atleast mine. Everyday is a question. Everyday you wonder, will the cloud move. There are days, times and seasons where you plead for the Lord to move the cloud. You walk out and the cloud is still there, not moving. Are you supposed to stop asking for the cloud to move? Yes, there are times to not ask and I believe that are those times to ask. However, I love those days when I am busy. When I am busy being where I know I am supposed to be and doing what I am supposed to be doing and not concerned if that cloud is going to move or not. REST. We are to be at rest … why … well as I continue on in my study of Numbers …

Numbers 10:33 The ask of the covenant of the Lord went before them during those three days to find them a place to rest. The Lord is going before us to prepare our next place of rest! When you are not moving, that is a time of rest. Use the time! If you are moving, then know that He is before you finding you the next place of rest.

Praise the Lord! He knows when to move us, He knows when it is time for journeying and time for resting. He goes before us here on earth and as well as in Heaven! Lord help me to trust you more and have more faith. You know when to move us because You go before us!! I have times when I feel like i am in “lag.” Like I know I am on the right web page. I clicked on the right link, but man oh man is this page taking awhile to load. Doesn’t the page always load though? Then you get impatient and try to reload it … I then get 2 of the same page at about the same time – sort of like making your life more difficult for yourself, than if you just waited for the first page. The first page has everything on it that you need. Just wait for the images to load! We are where we are supposed to be! Be at rest! Don’t worry, fret or be anxious … the page is going to load … wait through the “lag!”

Just sitting here, eating some gummi bears – in both mini and regular size – chillin’ with the roomie and watching a movie. So guess what the conclusion is? Gummies make me happy. I always love gummies. (Also great are sour patch kids – I would consider those in the gummi category as well.) Not really sure if gummi plural is “gummies” or “gummi’s” …. so the next time I am in stinky mood, buy me some sour patch kids or juju coins – no chocolate for this sister, just give me the gummi candy — that also makes me a cheap date — gummi candy is way cheaper than chocolate.

Bring on the gummy candy and I will smile :)

So there are some people in my life (Joe and Jon!!!) that have over time brought the math geek out in me. In talking with Jon the other day, I said that is one of favorite things in mathematics. I was like, I need a top 10 favorite things in Math.
